A Dream

Earlier this year the Holy Spirit led me to read Matthew 1:13-23 every day for a few weeks. I didn't know why I was led to read it but I listened and read it. After a few weeks I stopped reading it and just figured maybe I really wasn't lead to read it since I hadn't quite understood why I was reading it. I knew it was about Joseph and him having the dreams that instructed him where to take Jesus and Mary during the time  King Herod was looking for the child, who was to be the Christ but I was thinking, "How did that apply to me?"I completely dismissed it and kept going on with what I was doing that time of year.

Well, just this week I was looking over my journal that I used this year and found this passage of scripture that I was to read and I reread it. All I can say is WOW...it is so for me during this season. Have you ever had anything like that happen to you? Where maybe someone prophesied to you or the Holy Spirit spoke something to you and you were like, "Okay...and what do I do with that?" That word hit me like none other this week. In that particular passage Joseph had two dreams where the angels were telling him what to do, they were directing him and what stuck out to me was his obedience, Joseph's immediate response to the instruction given.

Matthew 2: 13-14 (The Message)

13After the scholars were gone, God's angel showed up again in Joseph's dream and commanded, "Get up. Take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt. Stay until further notice. Herod is on the hunt for this child, and wants to kill him."
14 -15Joseph obeyed. He got up, took the child and his mother under cover of darkness. They were out of town and well on their way by daylight. They lived in Egypt until Herod's death. This Egyptian exile fulfilled what Hosea had preached: "I called my son out of Egypt."

It didn't say that Joseph thought about or questioned what he was told in the dream, no he got up and obeyed the instructions given. You see the instructions given weren't just for Joseph, those instructions were given to him to save us all. If he hadn't then our savior Jesus Christ would have been captured and killed therefore there would have been no redemption for us, no sacrifice of life, a perfect life.

Have you been given instructions to do something? Have you had a dream? Do you have a dream that needs to be fulfilled and the reason why it hasn't been fulfilled is because of your lack of trust in the instructions given? I want to challenge you to trust God and do what he has placed in you to do because not only does your existence depend on it, other's existence depends on your obedience.

God Bless

The Beginning

Today is December 29, 2011 and it is time for me to step into what God has for me. I've been in preparation for a while and I am getting the release to step out. This blog will be one that will be transparent and I pray will encourage you. Prayerfully it will bring to light what is really important, the relationship we are to have with the Christ. I pray that what you read on a daily basis encourages, convicts and brings about a closer relationship and a more transparent you. I am inspired by the Holy Spirit and He is the one that brings me through things and out. Pray this blog blesses you as much as I know it will bless me to release some things he has placed inside of me.

God Bless
This is truly only the beginning ; )
