There is this song that simply speaks what my heart is saying right now. Here are the words (Mary Alesi),
"I'm Pressing On
Cause I don't want to live an ordinary life

Oh how these words speak to me and I can't be the only one. Everything I do is for the cause of Christ and in Him alone do I live this life to please. Life's daily struggle can beat down on us and cause us to lose focus on what's really important. How easily we forget that this life is NOT about ourselves. In the society we live in it's all about live for oneself and doing me has the conotation to mean, "regardless of anyone else's feelings, concerns or well being, I simply live this life to make myself happy." See this way of thinking is not one that God see's as pleasing for we live this life to please Him and that means denying yourself and not "doing you" but his will which totally denies the flesh.
This Life
I don't live this life for me
I live this life for He.
He is the one who came to this earth
He is the one who knew my birth
My birth he thought of when he died for me
When he was up there hanging from the tree
Yes, that tree, the wood he hung on had a starting place
and one who hung on a tree was considered a disgrace
He took the shame, sin, lust, greed and filth of the world
Was pierced, bruised, spit on for THIS DYING world
The world that lay dead and headed straight to hell
He spend His time here felling all the more compelled
Compelled to do exactly what he was sent to do
Teach to the people how to live and shed light on the fool
The fool that would deny that there's no way this eternal could really exist
The ones who says it's all a fraud yea He knew that he had to persist.
He had a purpose and that was to save
He knew that we must be shown the way
He was persistent in that fact that regardless of the afflictions that he'd face
This world had to have a savior so He stepped in that place.
He didn't lose focus but with intent he spent time with His Father
So that he would be prepared for the day that He'd be slaughtered
See, I thank God for his Son and the focus that He had
That no matter what the people threw his way He still obeyed His Dad.
Obedience my fellow believers is what will lead us to stepping in our full purpose
For without obedience, like Christ had, our lives are simply worthless
We live this life not for ourselves, our wants, our desires, our needs,
But we live this life for the ONE who saved us from this world of greed.
He'll give you what you desire, when you delight in Him
Once you're consumed with His love and His mission that's where you'll find your gem.
You'll find that in Him, you'll be completely satisfied
So my friend make sure that you simply live your life for Him, and allow him to be your guide!
